Roger Cumbie
Roger first received his broker license in 1969 in Orlando, Florida. He began his real estate teaching career in 1989 as an instructor for the Asheville Real Estate Academy. In 1994 he opened Cumbie Institute of Real Estate and offered courses leading to a license as a salesperson and broker as well as providing continuing education for Western North Carolina. Along with teaching duties Roger wrote courses for continuing education in categories such as trust accounts, closing statements and agency. In 2000 Cumbie Institute of Real Estate was sold and the Cumbies moved to Arizona for three years. Upon returning to the Carolina mountains, Roger and Bill Trull joined forces to share teaching duties at a new school, Cumbie and Trull School of Real Estate. Roger Cumbie received his A.A. degree from Brevard College and his B.S. from Appalachian State University.
Bill Trull
Bill Trull received his law degree from Duke University after completing his B.S. in Accounting at the University of Tennessee. He worked in private practice from 1977 through 2001 and concentrated on real estate matters the last 15 years. His other business interests include part-owner of Course Doctors, Inc. and owner of a business that provides qualified intermediary services for tax-deferred exchanges. Courses dealing with contracts, real estate, insurance and federal income tax are among the offerings Bill has taught at the University of North Carolina at Asheville and Blue Ridge Community College.
In 2001 Bill became part-owner of Cumbie Institute of Real Estate and taught as primary instructor after selling his part of the school. He is approved as a pre-license instructor and continuing education instructor by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission and now teaches for Cumbie and Trull School of Real Estate and continues to practice law for a few select clients. For recreation Bill enjoys golf, mountain bike riding, scuba diving, hiking and rehabilitation of older houses.
Jim Hagan
Jim Hagan’s extensive education experience includes teaching real estate and business courses for Southeastern Community College, Asheville Buncombe Community College and private real estate schools since 1971. He has over 15 years of sales experience as a real estate agent for Century 21 and received the REALTOR GRI designation in 1980. Jim received his BSBA and MA in Economics and Business from Appalachian State University.
